On September 30, we had a birthday party. Well actually, we had an Annual General Meeting followed by a party to celebrate 10 years as a non-profit society. We invited our clients and community partners to join our board and staff in commemorating the big event. We gathered at the Da Vinci Centre where there was live music courtesy of Ange Hehr and her band and burgers galore supplied by Fat Daddy's. The venue was beautifully adorned with tasteful displays of blue and white balloons. The entry to the hall was actually an arch consisting of balloons. It was actually quite a beautifully designed concept. We had a couple of young people, Avalon and Sydney, who welcomed participants and handed out tickets for dinner. Julie, our admin support extrordinaire, was the evening emcee and among other things she made sure that the evening proceeded in a fun and orderly fashion. We ate, we mingled, we collected door prizes and we danced. But the piece de resistance was the Photo Booth supplied by Four Frames Photo Booth. It was a wild and wacky feature that was enjoyed tremendously by all who dared to dress up and pose. What an incredible party it was and all of it thanks in large part to the AGM 10 planning group consisting of Board members, Joanne, Maureen and Susie and the Phoenix Coordinators, Donna, Jody, Laurie, Lois and Sabine. A big high five to each and every one of you for making this event a wonderful success ... and, of course, a big 'Happy Birthday' to Phoenix!!
